Remarkable Experiences, Meaningful Impact: Cushman & Wakefield | Stevenson’s 2025 Community Initiatives

How Our Team is Making a Difference Together

Throughout 2025, one thing remained constant: the heart of our company lies in our people. At Cushman & Wakefield | Stevenson, our work is guided by a commitment to building trust through excellence and creating remarkable experiences for our team, clients, and community. This year, those principles came to life in the many ways our employees showed up for others through thoughtful gestures, volunteerism, and a shared belief in “We” before “Me.”

From internal donation drives to hands-on contributions throughout Winnipeg, our team proved that meaningful impact doesn’t always require grand gestures. Oftentimes, purposeful growth begins with simple acts of kindness and a willingness to support the people around us. Here’s a look back at how we put these values into action through our 2025 community initiatives.

Wall of Hearts: Sharing Appreciation and Generosity

In February, our reception area was filled with colourful heart-shaped sticky notes that our team members purchased and wrote messages on to uplift and recognize one another. This Wall of Hearts became both a celebration of our supportive culture and a way to give back, raising over $200 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. These small expressions of appreciation reminded us how meaningful it can be to pause, acknowledge others’ hard work, and spread kindness.

Home Sweet Home: Baking for Ronald McDonald House Families

During February and March, our team visited Ronald McDonald House Manitoba through the Home Sweet Home baking program. With warmth and purpose, our volunteers prepared fresh baked treats for families staying at the House while their children receive hospital care. Knowing that a simple homemade snack can offer even a moment of comfort made the experience especially meaningful.

Downtown Spring Clean-Up: Caring for the Heart of Our City

In May, five team members joined more than 900 participants for the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ Spring CleanUp. Together, they collected litter and refreshed our city’s core, contributing to a cleaner environment for everyone who lives, works, and visits downtown. It was a hands-on way to show pride in the place we call home.

Ultimate Unified Games: Supporting Inclusive Sport

May continued to be a busy month when seven employees volunteered at Special Olympics Manitoba’s Ultimate Unified Games, a fundraising event that brings athletes of all abilities together. From helping with registration to assisting on the sidelines, our volunteers contributed energy and encouragement throughout the day. More than a competition, the event celebrated belonging, empowerment, and joyful connection.

Supporting Wildfire Evacuees: Compassion in Action

When summer wildfires displaced thousands of Manitobans, our team quickly rallied together. Over just ten days, employees collected hygiene products, non-perishable food, toys, and clothing for the Southern Chiefs’ Organization and Thrive Community Support Circle.

Strength in Kindness: United Way Plane Pull

We kicked off September with strength and team spirit as we participated in United Way Winnipeg‘s Plane Pull, marking the start of the organization’s 60th fundraising campaign. Alongside more than 1,500 participants, our team pulled an 80,000-pound jet across the tarmac at RRC Polytech Stevenson Campus. The energy and unity of the day were powerful reminders that when we work together, we can achieve extraordinary things—whether it’s pulling a plane or improving our community for everyone.

Siloam Mission: Leading with Service

In October, our leadership team volunteered at Siloam Mission, supporting their team who provide essential services such as emergency shelter, daily meals, and transitional programs. Working alongside other volunteers offered our leaders a meaningful look at the work Siloam Mission is doing to help reduce chronic homelessness.

Oak Table: Serving with Purpose

In November, members of our team volunteered at Oak Table in Osborne Village, one of the three community drop-in centres supported by 1JustCity. Oak Table welcomes approximately 120 people daily with nourishing meals, health supports, and skill-building opportunities. Helping prepare and serve food gave us a firsthand look at the valuable programs Oak Table provides.

Koats for Kids: Sharing Warmth for Winter

As temperatures dropped, we supported United Way Winnipeg’s Koats for Kids program through two meaningful initiatives:

  • Donation Drive: Employees donated gently used winter gear such as parkas, ski pants, boots, hats, scarves, and mitts in a company-wide donation drive.
  • Volunteer Day: Our entire accounting team volunteered at Koats for Kids, helping sort and package winter clothing while learning more about the program’s impact. With more than 6,000 coats and 22,000 additional pieces of winter outerwear distributed each year, Koats for Kids ensures children across Winnipeg stay warm and safe throughout the winter.

United Way Workplace Campaign: Creativity, Connection, and Community Impact

Each year, our United Way Winnipeg Workplace Campaign brings our team together to raise funds for programs that strengthen and uplift our community. This year our campaign committee combined creativity, collaboration, and generosity across three events:

  • Paint & Pot – Creativity for a Cause: In October, our team came together for an afternoon of creativity and connection – decorating terracotta pots, selecting plants, and enjoying time with colleagues. Through registration fees, the event raised funds for a great cause, with all proceeds supporting our 2025 United Way Campaign.
  • Bake Sale – Sweet Treats, Big Impact: In November, employees showcased their baking talents with an event full of homemade cookies, pastries, and seasonal treats. Each purchase contributed to programs that provide essential resources to Winnipeggers.
  • Jingle & Mingle – Celebrating Community and Concluding the Campaign: We wrapped up this year’s campaign with a Jingle & Mingle celebration featuring light-hearted fundraising contests, great food and drinks, and music from a live DJ. We were honoured to welcome Matthew Cutler, President & CEO of United Way Winnipeg, whose remarks highlighted the impact of collective giving and how coming together strengthens the fabric of our community.

Holiday Donation: Supporting Harvest Manitoba

In keeping with our commitment to strengthening our community, this year we chose to donate to Harvest Manitoba in lieu of sending client gifts. Harvest Manitoba collects and shares 13 million pounds of food to Manitobans every year via school programs, soup kitchens, community agencies, day cares, and more.

We are proud to contribute to an organization making such a meaningful, year-round impact for many people across our province.

Looking Ahead to 2026: Creating More Remarkable Experiences

As 2025 draws to a close, our dedication to making our community a better place to live, work, and play remains unwavering. In the year ahead, we’re excited to continue putting “We” before “Me” through Kindness Days, donation drives, and other initiatives that make a meaningful difference in our community.
