Cushman & Wakefield | Stevenson Recognized at Professional Property Managers Association Conference

CWS at the Professional Property Managers Association (PPMA Manitoba) Conference

On March 11, members of our Multi-Family and Marketing teams attended the Professional Property Managers Association (PPMA Manitoba) Conference. It was a day full of connecting with Manitoba’s property management community, learning, and exploring the tradeshow booths and exhibitors. Throughout the day, attendees participated in educational sessions on a variety of topics such as the future of leadership, the use of AI in property management, fire safety systems, and more.

The day also included the Awards of Excellence Luncheon, where Cushman & Wakefield | Stevenson was recognized for two awards – Mara Doctoroff was recognized as Property Manager of the Year, and our team received the award for Outstanding Community Service!

While we take great pride in the work we do within our community and across our industry, it’s an honour to receive these recognitions within the property management community.

Property Manager of the Year

The award for Property Manager of the Year recognizes a property manager who shows dedication and innovation to providing exceptional services to their owners and residents. The recipient is someone who grows and develops within the industry by enhancing building values, sharing knowledge throughout the industry, and a commitment to personal and professional development.

We are incredibly proud of Mara Doctoroff, Property Manager, Condominium for being recognized as Property Manager of the Year.

Always Going the Extra Mile to Provide Remarkable Service

Mara is known both in the office and at her properties for having a heart of gold and always having a positive attitude. She consistently goes the extra mile to connect and build trust with her clients by providing her boards and owners with remarkable service and taking the time to meet new owners at the building to introduce herself and show them the ins and outs of the building.

At the office, Mara goes out of her way to give her coworkers kudos and make all new employees feel welcome, even attending after-hours meetings with coworkers to provide additional support.

A Wealth of Experience and Knowledge

Mara has been working in the Property Management industry for over 8 years and is currently on the board of the Canadian Condominium Institute of Manitoba (CCI Manitoba) as co-chair of the Education committee. Her breadth and depth of experience is evident in the impact she has on unit owners and condo boards, and her efforts do not go unnoticed by the owners in the buildings she manages.

While Mara’s commitment to providing her boards and owners remarkable service and always going above and beyond for clients and coworkers doesn’t go unnoticed around the office, we are so proud that her hard work has been recognized across Manitoba’s property management community.

Congratulations, Mara!

Outstanding Community Service

The award for Outstanding Community Service recognizes a company or individual who contributes to their community through volunteer activities, contributions to charitable activities, and community activities.

At Cushman & Wakefield | Stevenson, making our community a better place to live, work, and play by providing remarkable experiences is an important part of our culture.

Throughout 2024 we orchestrated several initiatives to support our local community.

Kindness Days

As part of our Kindness Days initiative, which offers the opportunity for team members to use one full paid day per year to volunteer for a charity of their choosing, we organized a variety of opportunities for team members to volunteer in the community, including:

We intentionally provide a variety of opportunities for Kindness Days so our team members can select the opportunity they are most passionate about to participate in, and if they would like, they can also organize a separate volunteer opportunity at an organization of their choosing.

Giving Back Through Additional Community Initiatives

Beyond Kindness Days, we participated in and executed a number of additional community initiatives and donation drives, including:

  • Participating in the annual Downtown Winnipeg BIZ Spring Cleanup to ensure our downtown is a safe and clean place to live and work.
  • Donation drives collecting donations for Sunshine House and Backpacks from Heaven.
  • A committee of employee volunteers organized an “Ugly Sweater”-themed fundraiser in support of United Way Winnipeg’s Workplace Campaign.
  • In lieu of sending client holiday gifts, we made a donation to 1JustCity.

A Day of Connection and Celebration

The Professional Property Managers Association (PPMA Manitoba) Conference was a great day of industry learning, connecting with the property management community, and celebrating the success of others within the industry.

We are extremely proud of Mara and our team for these recognitions. Providing our clients with remarkable experiences and giving back to our community are key parts of our culture, so it’s very rewarding to have been recognized in these areas by the PPMA and Manitoba’s property management community!
